Descent to Requiem

Darkest day and shattered hours the grains of sand all fall away.
Trembling shift and greater powers fight for dominance, games they play.
Dust gathered in the wind that swirls, desolate plain of sun baked earth.
Blood shot eyes blinded by sun the season’s greeting rings again.

Abyssal flames of blue. Lashing tongues that sear.
Within erupts the scream. Resonating emptiness.
Thundering of beats. Chokes the breath that gives.
Gentle love’s embrace. Mocking once again.

Finger of fear that tickles the spine, wavering grasp, fragmented sight.
Every step to stumble and fall, jeering voices that never die.
Irrational loss to warped vision, bitter tears wetting the eyes.
Laughter that surrounds to break the soul, slowly engulfed in breaking tides.

Abyssal flames of blue. Lashing tongues that sear.
Within erupts the scream. Resonating emptiness.
Thundering of beats. Chokes the breath that gives.
Gentle love’s embrace. Mocking once again.

Witness! To shadows! Surrounding me! Never free!
Blood that falls! Consuming all! Stay or flee? Too soon you fall!
Witness! To shadows! Surrounding me! Never free!
Blood that falls! Consuming all! Stay or flee? Too soon you fall!

Lord I pray, deliver me from death’s everlasting fire
(Libera me Domine de morte aeterna)
On that Day of Judgement, on that dreadful day,
(In die illa tremenda in die illa)
When the earth and the heavens shall shake, when the earth and heavens shall shake and tremble,
(Quando caeli movendi sunt, quando caeli movendi sunt et terra)
And thou shalt come with thy mighty flaming fire of judgement.
(Dum veneris judicare saeculum per ignem)

Trembling, trembling I stand before thee in fear and dread, in fear and dread,
(Tremens, tremens factus sum ego et timeo, et timeo)
Thy wrath shall descend on the earth and bring all flesh to desolation.
(Dum discussio venerit atque ventura ira)
Day of trial, day of judgement, death and destruction, torment and distress.
(Dies illa, dies irae, calamitatis et miseriae)
Day of anger, day of vengeance, day of mourning of woe and bitter grief.
(Dies illa, dies magna et amara, amara valde)

Pray for rest eternal and light perpetual
Pray for rest eternal and light perpetual
Pray for rest eternal and light perpetual
Pray for rest eternal and light perpetual

Light of fractured sound discordant melodies that screams harmonise.
Fades to white that shines from within, shadows that capitulate and flee.
Gently now the stillness that comes embraces the shell so disconsolate.
Whispers around of flitting visions and scattered cherry blossoms littering the sky.
